What is the way that you know you are connected to yourself?

That your body and mind are in sync — like when you know your WiFi signal is connected and working as it should.

Like a Zoom meeting that tells you your internet connection is unstable, do you get a message (like goose bumps or a zing across your skin) when disconnection is happening?

How do you truly know?

For me it might show up as just feeling off, but not knowing why. I might be more on the cranky side with myself and others, or I might just be overly distracted starting and stopping and never finishing because I’m not connected to myself.

Can you relate?

If so, there are so many ways to make the connection to yourself stable again. Like you might have to do when you reset your modem or close the app and restart, we often have to hit the reset button in our minds and/or bodies.

The reset button might be:

  • Pausing and taking a few deep breaths

  • Sitting or standing quietly and doing a body scan

  • Writing in a journal or notebook

  • Finding a way to give yourself a hug

  • Going for a walk

  • Getting fresh air

Often all we need is a moment to reset. It does not have to be complicated or take a long time. We each might have different ways we find the connection back to ourselves. Try a few of the above and see if they work for you.
