Imagination first

These past 15 months of the pandemic are some of the hardest I’ve ever navigated as an adult (I have some childhood things that could probably compare). Yet, amidst all the “hard” parts, there has also been space for many of us to cultivate time and space.

Instead of commuting I get more time with my child, more time to think, more time to work out.

More time for some may mean more time to be creative and use our imagination.

For me space equals creativity.

I love this quote from Albert Einstein:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”

How often do we go into situations where we feel we must be confident, know all the things and be competent?

Sure, those matter a lot of the time, but there are many times where coming into a meeting or an interaction with someone where knowing a lot is a deterrent to learning more.

When we come as the “know it all” we often listen less, ask less questions, and really limit the scope of our imagination.

Remember that as you get on the floor and play with your kids, when you walk into that meeting thinking you have to know it all, or even when you meet up with a friend - start with curiosity and your imagination and see where it takes you.

You do you.
