Acceptance and Control

It is often difficult to accept what is happening around us.

We want it to be different.

We want to control the situation.

We want it to be mapped out according to the perfect plan we have in our mind.

All these thoughts and feelings actually render us in a place of having no control.

We give the control and power to others.

When we learn to manage our minds, we begin to see that we always have control of how we show up and how we act.

When we accept what is happening around us, and truly assess the thoughts whirling in our mind we are able to take control. We get to control HOW we show up, we don’t get to control what is actually happening.

Example: Your co-worker blew up your project. What do you make that mean about you? How do you respond? Do you go apeshit on them? Do you think they care more about themselves than you?

Example: Your daughter gets angry often and when it happens you start to yell. What is it about her anger that sets you off? What thoughts are you thinking? What are you making her anger mean?

Life is unpredictable these days, and there is SO much we do not have control over, but the ONE thing we will always have is control over how we show up.

As needed, take a moment to breathe before you respond. Take time for yourself. Breathe. Listen more. Write down your thoughts and feelings.

I am here to help you manage your mind, so all the banter that keeps you up at night can be looked at and used in a way that will serve you. Sign up for a free consult call to chat more about accepting what is, manage your mind, and focus on what is really in our control.
