Checked in vs. checked out

How often are you checked out of your life?

You go through the day, checking the boxes for everybody else, but it is with a mindless focus towards just getting it all done.

Often we are not even aware of the things we are doing, we just cannot wait to get off of Zoom, finish our emails, and walk away from our computer.

Or maybe we cannot wait to put our kid to bed and we realize the time we spent with them today we were distracted.

When we are “checked out” we are not available to see what is happening around us. We miss that special moment with a family member because we were too busy looking at our phone, or making sure we got done all the things we needed to do.

What if we all tried to live a more “checked in” life?

Living a “checked in” life means we are aware of what is happening right now. We are available for whatever is thrown our way.

If we need to live “checked out” then maybe we are not living the life we want.

What would you need to do to live a more “checked in” life?

I know I am making it all sound easy, but if you had a choice would you rather be here/now, present for what is happening, or constantly checked out and missing it all?

Live a checked in life.
