Can you think of a place in your life where you are holding on too tight?

You want so badly for something to turn out a certain way.

You want someone to treat you a specific way.

You want the new gig.

And yet, we have no control over how something turns out, how someone treats us, or if we get that new gig.

We hold on so tight hoping and wishing.

Take a moment and think of the thing you are holding so tightly too.

Now, take a deep breath and as you exhale let it go. Let go of how tightly you are holding onto it.

When we stop trying to control everything and let things happen as they are going to, we get time back, our body feels better, and the tightness is gone.

Honestly, it may be one of the hardest things for many of us to master, but just like riding a bike, playing an instrument, or learning to cook — with practice we get better at it.

What are you holding onto so tightly?

How did I get here?
