Trust what you cannot see

I am a long distance runner.

For me it’s a time to sweat, keep my body healthy, push my limits, and have time to be immersed in my thoughts.

One of the things about someone that runs long distances is that you cannot see the finish line.

Whether you are running through a neighborhood, off-road in the woods, or out in the country, you can count your miles, but you cannot see the end.

Instead, long distance runners have to trust what they cannot see.

I love this as a metaphor for life.

We cannot see what is around the corner.

We do not know what obstacles we are going to face.

We do not know what bugs will fly into our face, when we will get stuck in pouring rain, or when the need to pee will hit us.

We trust that we will figure it out.

What if we all took the view of a long distance runner?

Visualize the route, trust you will be able to persevere against all odds, lace up, and go.

Regardless of what bullshit may get thrown your way, you keep lacing up and running.

Trust in yourself to figure it out — whether on the road or in life.

If you are feeling stuck about visualizing your finish line, sign up for a free call with me where I can show you how to visualize the route you want to take in life, lace up, and then go.
