It’s not a race.
It probably feels that way on most days.
Yet, do we really have to rush through life?
Get the degree, job, the next promotion, find that perfect someone, grow a family, make all this money.
Which one of (or all of those) are on your list?
Now I want you to pause for a minute and think about all those things on your list. Which ones did you actually enjoy working towards? Which ones did you hate but you did it anyway?
Life should not be about how fast we can get there, but what we do on the way.
I think of it often when I remind my son to not jam all his food in his mouth when he is eating, to slow down and enjoy and savor the tastes and smells.
Or when we go for walks around the neighborhood to notice what is new and changed. What’s fun is what we also miss ourselves. For example, my son has recently gotten into basketball and I had never noticed how many basketball hoops are in our neighborhood until he started to point them out.
What else are you missing because you are racing through life?
Are you enjoying the journey? If not, what would you change?
If you are someone who is checking all the boxes because that is what you have been told would make you happy, and now see how unhappy you are — you are not alone. You don’t have to rush… you can have so much damn fun along the way.
I coach on these topics - sign up for a free call with me to learn more about how you can go from checking all the boxes to slowing the fuck down and being intentional about enjoying life.
It’s all a choice. What will yours be?
