What brings you joy?
About a year ago I had a session with an intuitive and they asked me, “What brings you joy?” I immediately felt uncomfortable and thought, "Why are you asking me this question? I have NO idea." I didn't know how to answer it for days, weeks, and months.
I now know why.
Most of us have been socialized to live a certain way. It had been ingrained in me that I had to make a specific amount of money, take care of my family, and do all these things that the world wanted to me to do.
What would it look like if I took a big-ass break? What would people think of me? Would I be a failure?
I had been talking to this intuitive because my health was not good. I had brain fog, and severe fatigue, something that was not normal to me — I was used to going 150% all the time. I had all the tests done, I eat well, I exercise, and yet, there were days when I could not physically get out of bed.
I did not have a choice. I had to take a big-ass break and focus on my health.
And you know what? No one cared whether I was working or not. While I explored my health I also explored what brings me joy.
I had spent 20+ years in corporate America where I thought I was checking some of my own boxes, but often the boxes were for managers, leadership, and the bottom line of the company.
I don’t want to check other people’s boxes any more.
I've been painting more. Baking more. Playing more.
What would you do if you knew in your heart that the box-checking did not matter?
If you answer, "I have no freaking idea." That's okay. I was there too.
I'm here to help you figure out what you want -- not what others want for you. We can dabble, play, and explore what ignites you even if it has been a long time since you got to do that thing in your life.
Together, let’s go from checking all the boxes to doing what brings us the most joy.
