Do you ever have a thought that comes and goes but it doesn’t stay around long? It is one of those subtle thoughts that might actually have more meaning than we ever really know.
“Who am I if I am not doing?”
Do you ever have that thought? When it comes to you, do you try to avoid it? It is one that teeters on the edge of self-worth, confidence, and truly trying to hide from our true feelings. In the past I have always been glad when the thought came and then I did not pamper it and it left. Now, I want it to stay. I want to think about it, ponder what it really means and dig in like a Thanksgiving dinner.
Who am I if I am not doing something? If I don’t finish the laundry, have a clean house, or a full kitchen of groceries? Who am I if I fail at work? Who am I if I am not perfect for my partner? Who am I if I am not successful? Who am I if I do not work out?
For those of you in the crazy cycle of doing, I ask that you think why you are choosing to do what you are doing. Are you doing it because you are hiding from some other feeling, or are you doing it because you are in the zone of bliss?
If you are hiding, then I have tools to help you answer the question. Together we can look at why you think you have to fill your time by doing. Schedule a free consult call with me so we can chat more.
