Think about the energy in your body. When you are angry your body is tense, sometimes you might associate dark colors, red, or maybe your body starts to sweat.

Or maybe you are sitting in the sun at the beach or in your backyard soaking in the rays. Your body feels different, as though the sun itself releases the tension in your body.

Your voice is like the megaphone for your body.

Although it looks differently for everyone. If you are in a safe space your anger might come out as loud, aggressive and intense. When you are not in a safe space your anger might actually be quiet and seething.

All that energy is coursing through you and it is not being let out.

Overwhelm might look grey and distant, and it might make your limbs sore if it is not let out. Or it might look like weakness and quiver or cry if let out.

Your body carries energy signals coursing through it every minute. So often we do not want to deal with how that energy feels but if we slow down, pause and feel what is happening inside us we are able to make more intentional choices of whether we keep the energy inside or let it out.

Letting it out might mean yelling at someone, or letting the tears come, or a long run/walk to process your emotions. You might decide after that walk that you got worked up and there is nothing to do, or you might thoughtfully decide to use your voice intentionally and speak up tomorrow.

I can help you watch the energy in your body and make intentional choices of how you want to act. Sign up to chat more about how I can help.
