Or are you sleepwalking through life?

Prior to March 2020, many of us were sleepwalking through life. Wake early, dress, get in car, drop off kids, commute to work, sit at a desk or in conference rooms all day and repeat it day after day.

We were sleepwalking through life.

Then we did what none of us thought was possible. We endured a pandemic, racial issues, mass killings, war, political unrest, natural disasters — all while working, raising our kids while working, getting COVID and taking care of family members.

Our mental health has been stretched in ways we never knew was possible.

We have learned a ton about our values, what we are capable of and what we are no longer willing to put up with.

We have learned we can often be more focused and more productive at home, but that we miss the human contact of our colleagues, friends, and family — and that we like the autonomy to decide how we want to live our lives.

Guess what?

We always had that autonomy. Many of us were just afraid to speak up, stand out, and ruffle feathers.

After all we have been through these past 2 years, many are done putting up with the bullshit of it all.

We are AWAKE.

We want more.

We are willing to take risks that we might not have before because our autonomy matters. Our values matter. Our happiness matters.

Stay awake regarding the things that matter to you.

I’d love to hear how are staying awake and making changes in your life (big and small) — leave a comment to help others be inspired!

It's okay to not be okay
