Before the world chimed in

Are you living the life you want?

Or are you living what the world wants for you -- or what you think the world wants for you?

Are you hiding from the stuff you don't want to look at?

I did.

I knew there was a lot of pain and trauma from my past but the easier route was to work so damn hard, fill my days, be everything for everyone rather than to show up for myself, roll up my sleeves and feel all the damn feelings that were there waiting for me.

There was a little girl (me) that said, "Do you see me? I'm still here and I want you to know me."

As I write this, tears are falling down my cheeks.

It's for you, six-year-old Tami. I see you and I hope to know your innocence, joy, giggles, creativity a little more each day.

What do you not want to look at? Do you know?

Who were you before the world chimed in?

I hope you pause today and take some time to ask yourself those questions. You are worth it. You matter.
