Little ones in our Zoom meetings — what is better than that?
They are our little reminders of humanity and empathy.
In at least one meeting each day this week I have had someone have their baby or toddler join us.
In one meeting, the little boy could not help but make faces at me the entire time. We were still able to get through the items we needed to AND I laughed, smiled, and made faces back to him the entire time.
In another meeting, their daughter was sick and snuggled to sleep on their mom. I kept getting distracted and watching her sleep — safe and loved all while her mom and I chatted.
I loved that these distractions.
Even after 2.5 years into the pandemic where our family and homes are now weaved into our work lives — we still need those extra smiles and laughter in our days.
Things are not easy right now.
