Oh, the wonder when kids accomplishing something they’ve never done before or dared to try something new — the same goes for adults!
There is usually a giant smile, excitement, maybe some jumping up and down for that new accomplishment.
Trying something new starts with the willingness to be curious.
When we are curious we are interested in learning something new, trying something different and exploring what may be unknown.
We have to be aware, pause, and listen.
It might mean you listen more in a meeting, talk less, and find out you learned new things about your co-workers. You may sit quietly in the car on the way home and wait for your kids to talk about their day. Or that you find a way to be more curious about what is happening in your partner’s mind.
Have you thought about whether you are open to being curious? Or is it easier to stick to routine and stay comfortable?
What is that one thing in your life that you are curious about — but you are terrified to begin?
Our willingness to dig in and be curious about the thoughts that spin in our heads and the sensations and emotions in our bodies are signals to a deeper knowing within ourselves.
I can help you dig into that curiosity. If you want to find out more, reach out for a free 20 minute call to learn more. Remember to start with awareness, pause and listen. You might just learn something new.
