This has been a tough week for many of us.

For me it has been hard because of politics, work, and some personal things that run deep with emotion.

I am not a crier but the tears have been flowing this week, sometimes without knowing why.

What has gotten me through: Appreciation

So often we take for granted what is around us.

Toilet paper, our home, the family around us.

Our able bodies and minds.

Instead we focus on all the things that we do not have. We agonize over what is missing, or what we did not get, or where we think we should be in the world.

When we focus on appreciation we let go of what we cannot control, accept what is happening around us and stop resisting the situation surrounding us.

Accept what is.

Appreciate what you do have.

Let the rest go.
