This past year has taken our mental health to places we may not have known before. I’m apart of a Facebook Covid Long-Haulers group. I joined to hopefully learn how others are managing different symptoms. What I’ve learned is they are far and wide, and while my continued healing has not been fun for me or my family, there are people struggling with extreme cases (some that originally got Covid in March 2020 and are still struggling).

You might also be struggling to balance work and your kid being home for the summer.

Or taking care of a loved one.

Or continuing to fight for equality, equity, and inclusion.

You may hate working from home, feel alone, and cannot wait for things to get back to some sort of normal.

Whatever the situation — what is important to remember is it is okay to not feel okay.

Everything around us wants us to be normal, perfect, and in one piece, but what we’ve all experienced in this past year is not normal. It has been extremely hard, and we need to be okay with how hard and messy it has been.

It is okay to meltdown, cry, be angry, and feel like everything is impossible. I have.

Acknowledging that you are struggling is one step towards working through your emotions. Feel what you feel, and don’t add more shame on yourself that you may not be showing up perfect.

If you want to chat more about where you are at contact me. A coach is there to listen and reflect back on the thoughts you are choosing to keep about your situation. Together we can find new thoughts that serve you.
