Joy in the simple things

We are entering a pause period. For me it means taking the next two weeks off before 2021 starts.

It will be a time for family, rest, fewer Zoom calls, playing games, eating holiday food, sleep, reading, and writing.

I crave this time.

Even before the pandemic we all went too fast. Commuting, traveling, getting all the things done. What I have been pondering recently is how can we all look for the joy in the simple things?

I love when my son randomly says, “Momma I love you.”

Or when I literally let go and give zero shits that my house is a mess.

Keeping things fresh during the pandemic means, for me, a new kitchen faucet and new drinking glasses.

It is the little things.

Finding joy in what is simple.

As we ease into the holidays and 2021, what joy can you find the in simple things?

Playing games from your childhood?

Baking your favorite holiday treat?

Doing nothing all day but reading a really good book with a warm chai by the fire?

What brings you the most joy?
