Learning to live with less intensity

I have a brain tumor.

It is benign, but when I found out I had it over 10 years ago it had already wreaked havoc on my body. The medication I was given to shrink it changed my life.

I went from barely making it through the day to eventually being able to walk a mile, then jog and run.

I decided I was getting another chance at life and was going to leverage every moment.

I did.

I worked long hours. I filled all of my time with things I thought I needed to do or accomplish. I was even running 10 miles a day at 8 mph.

And then I got Covid a year ago. And, again, something out of my control changed everything.

I haven’t been able to run 10 miles a day this past year — I can barely run at all. I have really good days and really bad ones.

And now I am learning how to live — in a less intense way.

I do not need to live every moment to the fullest. I don’t need to suck the life out of every day.

I’m learning to listen to my body and do what I need to do and not what everyone around me needs to do.

Are you sucking the life out of your day, or are you living the life you want? We are always in the drivers seat, but sometimes the car is on autopilot and we have lost track of where we are going. If you find that you are doing ALL the things in life and are asking why you are so exhausted or if any of it matters — reach out to me because I can help walk you through how to make some simple changes in your life.
