Each day we wake up we have a choice.

We get to decide how we want to show up.

Do we want to be open minded for whatever life brings us?

Or do we agonize over all the crap in our life we might not be happy about, or wish was different?

It only takes a moment to clear out all the banter and chatter in your brain and get clear on your day.

You might wake up and not feel rested and that is the trigger that makes you cranky when you start your day. On days like that, I keep it simple — I think about the most basic things.

“I’m so glad I am not having to commute on a day like today.”

“I’m so glad I’m wearing sweatpants on this Zoom call.”

“I’m grateful my son has a school pod, otherwise today might be that much harder.”

Those basic nuggets brings us back to something to hold onto on those tough days.

On more normal days, maybe try to have a more expansive idea that looks out towards others.

“Where can I listen more?”

“How can I be of help?”

It is like a giant hug to the universe that, in the end and often without knowing it, hugs you back.

If you think about it — it is life that gives us a gift each day. A fresh, white canvas that we can start with each morning.

Every day is a new day.
