"You did not come this far to come this far."

I am an achiever. I like a challenge. I want to be better than I was yesterday. Sometimes that means I’m extremely competitive with myself. As a runner, I want to push myself harder, sweat more, and do more mileage. When I recently found this quote it summed up where I felt I was in life:

“You did not come this far to come this far.”

Generally speaking I have everything I need in life. I’m happy. But, even so I found there was this dull boredom of my day: drop kid off at school, work, pick up kid, dinner, bedtime, wine + catch up on work/life/DVR. Rinse. Repeat. I wanted more.

My rinse and repeat was all in my mind. Once I began scouring the thoughts that incessantly poured through my mind all day long, my life coach training taught me to tame how I chose to react to each thought, it changed how I showed up.

We think there is so much in our life we control and so much that we do not control. When really all we have control over is our thoughts. We cannot control the co-worker that is making our life miserable, or the family member driving us crazy. As we each start to tame our mind we find we can go farther than we ever thought possible.
